   Roll pastry out to about 1 cm (3/8-inch) on cookie sheet; bake for 30 minutes at 300u00b0.

   Top of cake should be golden brown.

   Cut into squares while warm, or form little balls of dough and spread these out on cookie sheet.

   These will form cookies about 1 to 1 1/2 inches diameter.

    Top with sliced almonds, if desired, before baking.
