Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients using your hands.

Then add in the bread crumbs and continue to mix until well combined.

We dont care for Italian bread crumbs, but feel free to use them instead if you prefer.

Spray a standard size loaf pan or meatloaf pan with cooking spray.

I like to use The Perfect Meatloaf Pan, since it allows the fat to drain to the bottom.

Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and press into the pan.

If using The Perfect Meatloaf Pan, be careful not to press the meat into the pan too firmly since there are holes in the insert.

Bake for 45 to 60 minutes.

We like a good crust on our meatloaf, so I always bake mine the full 60 minutes.

Remove the pan from the oven.

Brush the remaining 1/4 cup of ketchup on the top of the loaf.

Use more or less to suit your tastes.

Place the pan back in the oven and bake another 15 minutes to caramelize the ketchup.

Remove the pan from the oven and allow to cool slightly before slicing.

We like to have our meatloaf with green beans and sour cream and chive mashed potatoes.
