Christmas Popcorn Snowball

   In greased large kettle, toss popped popcorn with cherries until well mixed.

   In medium saucepan over medium-high, heat corn syrup, vinegar and salt until the mixture boils, stirring occasionally.

   Set candy thermometer in place and continue cooking without stirring until temperature reaches 250u00b0 or until a small amount dropped into very cold water forms a hard ball.

   Remove syrup from heat; stir in vanilla.

   Slowly pour syrup on the popcorn balls.
