preheat oven to 375, large mixing bowl, beat shortening & butter, add brown sugar, granulated sugar, & baking soda.

Beat until combined, scraping side of bowl occasionally.

Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
