1. Combine chicken broth, water, and onion in a large pot and bring to a boil.

2. While the soup base is heating, combine the garlic powder, cumin, and chili powder in a small bowl and dip chicken in the bowl until evenly coated.

3. Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet and add the chicken. Cook chicken over medium-high heat until cooked on both sides. It is ok if center of chicken is slightly raw as it will go into the hot soup.

4. Once soup has come to a boil, add chicken, salsa and corn and simmer for 10 minutes.

5. Remove chicken from soup and shred with 2 forks. Return to pot along with the lime juice and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.

6. Place soup in bowls and top with tortilla chips, shredded cheese, and diced avocado.
