1. In a large saucepan, brown sausage over medium heat. When it's done, drain off the grease and put the sausage into a large soup pot. In the same saucepan, saute onions, carrots, celery, basil and parsley in 2 tablespoons of butter until softened (about 10-12 minutes).

2. Add broth, veggies and potatoes into the soup pot with the sausage. Bring to a boil then cover the pot and reduce heat. Simmer for 10-12 minutes or until potatoes are tender.

3. Stir in milk, cheese, salt and pepper. Continue stirring until the cheese has melted. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream. Keep warm over low heat until ready to serve.
