For the cheese sauce:
-
2
Start by melting the butter/margarine in a medium saucepan on medium heat.
-
3
Once it is melted, add the flour.
-
4
Stir constantly for about 3 minutes or until the gummy flour taste is cooked out of the flour.
-
5
Whisking constantly to avoid lumps, add the milk.
-
6
Once this is incorporated, turn the burner down to low and add the cheese and cayenne.
-
7
Thats it, cheese sauce is finished!
-
8
Set it aside for a moment.
-
9
For the pizza:
-
10
Preheat the oven to 450 F. Put your pizza stone in the oven while it preheats, if using one.
-
11
Place the broccoli in a microwave safe bowl and cook on high for about a minute.
-
12
I used a rotisserie chicken so it came fully cooked.
-
13
Shred the chicken into large bite sized pieces.
-
14
Roll out the pizza dough into your desired shape.
-
15
Place dough on a pizza peel or inverted jelly roll pan that has been generously dusted with the cornmeal.
-
16
Spread the cheese sauce over the dough.
-
17
Top with the chicken, broccoli and shredded cheese.
-
18
Place pizza in the oven onto the pizza stone or directly in the oven if using a jelly roll pan.
-
19
Bake for about 10 minutes then check on the pizza.
-
20
It should be turning golden brown and the cheese should be melted.
-
21
If it needs a few more minutes add a minute at a time.
-
22
Mine took about 11 minutes.
-
23
Remove pizza from the oven, slice and enjoy!
-
24
**Note, you can switch things up very easily with this recipe.
-
25
Adding ham and using Swiss cheese would be great!
-
26
Get your kids involved and let them make individual pizzas to their liking.
-
27
Flip one side of the pizza over on top of itself, pinch the edges together and make it into a calzone.
-
28
The possibilities are endless!
