12 ounces apple chicken sausage, sliced
3 tablespoons butter, divided
2 granny smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced
12 small sweet onion, sliced
⅛ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons flour
1 ½ cups milk
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
3 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
½ cup panko breadcrumbs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Coat a broiler safe 9x13 baking dish with non stick spray.

Cook rigatoni.

Cook apple chicken sausages; set aside.

Add 1 tablespoon butter to skillet and saute apples and onion for 5 minutes.

Remove from heat; add cooked sausage, salt and pepper.

Add to drained pasta in pot.

Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons butter in a medium sauce pot.

Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.

Pour in milk and Dijon mustard and bring to a simmer.
