Butterscotch Bread Puddings Recipe

   Preheat oven to 350F.

   Butter two 1 1/4-c. ramekins and divide bread cubes between them.

   In a small saucepan heat half-and-half, butter, salt, and vanilla over moderate heat till warm.

   In a small bowl whisk together sugar, egg, and yolk and add in half-and-half mix in a stream, whisking.

   Pour mix over bread cubes and bake puddings in middle of oven till puffed and golden brown, about 25 to 30 min.

   Serve puddings hot with ice cream.
