-
1
Preheat oven to 475 degrees F.
-
2
Place sliced tomatoes into a colander and sprinkle with salt.
-
3
Let sit 10-15 minutes.
-
4
This will dry the tomatoes out and prevent them from making the pizza dough soggy while baking.
-
5
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
-
6
Add bacon strips.
-
7
Cook until brown and crispy.
-
8
Remove to a plate lined with a paper towel.
-
9
When cool, break bacon into bits (I crush the bacon strips in my hands while wrapped in the paper towels).
-
10
Meanwhile, press the dough ball into a flat circle on a pizza stone or an oiled baking sheet.
-
11
Place tomato slices on dough, starting by making a circle around the outer edge and working in.
-
12
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of tomatoes.
-
13
Top the cheese with the bacon crumbles.
-
14
Using a pastry brush or your fingers, rub the olive oil along the outside crust.
-
15
Then sprinkle oil with sea salt.
-
16
This makes the crust tasty and enjoyable once baked!
-
17
Bake pizza for 15-20 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and cooked through.
-
18
While pizza is baking, combine shredded lettuce with the mayonnaise.
-
19
Add salt and pepper to taste.
-
20
Remove pizza from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
-
21
Arrange lettuce mixture on top of cooked pizza.
-
22
Slice and serve!
