Take the 3 pieces of torn whole wheat bread and place them in a food processor. Blend until bread resembles coarse crumbs. Then set aside in a large bowl.

Place all other ingredients in a food processor, except bread crumbs and egg. It is hard to mix this in a blender, so use a food processor. Lastly, add the bread crumbs and the egg and mix.

Shape into patties. The shaping into patties process will be messy. If the patties aren't holding together at all, you need to add more bread crumbs.

Grill on foil first and then directly onto grill. While on foil, close lid and grill/bake for 7 to 8 minutes. Then take off foil and grill each side for 3 minutes. I serve them as an open face sandwich with a slice of tomato, guacamole, and melted cheddar cheese.
