1/2 cup (125 ml) flour
1/2 tsp (2 ml) thyme
1/2 tsp (2 ml) salt
1/2 tsp (2 ml) pepper
5 beef bouillon cubes
5 large carrots, peeled and chopped 1 inch thick
5 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped 1 inch thick
1 large onion, roughly chopped
1 slice bacon
2 tbsp (30 ml) Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 cup (125 ml) corn starch

Simmer bacon in large pot a few minutes turning a few times.

Add beef pieces and brown meat and all sides.

Add the rest of the ingredients except cornstarch.

Turn heat to low and simmer one hour.

Whisk cornstarch together with 1 cup (225 ml) water.

While stirring stew, slowly pour in cornstarch mixture until well bended.

Remove from heat, let cool ten minutes to thicken.
