1 Tbsp. shortening

1 small chopped onion
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 can tomato soup
3/4 c. red wine
1/4 c. water
1/4 tsp. powdered basil
1/4 tsp. powdered thyme
1/2 c. ketchup
3 medium carrots
1 1/2 c. cut celery
4 medium potatoes
