Ingredients: 1 pound boneless chuck steak, partially frzn, then sliced thin diagonally; 1/2 c. water; 1/4 c. soy sauce; 2 tbsp. sugar; 1 clove garlic, chopped; 1 teaspoon cornstarch; 3 tbsp. oil; 3 sm. carrots, sliced thin diagonally about 1 c.; 1 med. onion, cut in thin wedges; 5 c. coarsely shredded cabbage; Warm cooked rice

Servings: persons

1 pound boneless chuck steak, partially frzn, then sliced thin diagonally
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. soy sauce
2 tbsp. sugar
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon cornstarch
3 tbsp. oil
3 sm. carrots, sliced thin diagonally about 1 c.
1 med. onion, cut in thin wedges
5 c. coarsely shredded cabbage
Warm cooked rice

Marinate beef in mix of water, soy sauce, sugar, garlic and cornstarch at least 10 min.

Drain well, reserving marinade.

In large skillet or possibly wok heat oil till very warm, but not smoking.

Add in beef strips and stir fry over high heat 30 seconds or possibly till browned.

Remove from skillet, set aside.

In same skillet stir fry carrots and onions about 2 min or possibly till crisp and tender.

Push to side of pan.

Return beef to skillet, fold in cabbage and stir fry till cabbage is barely crisp.

Add in reserved marinade, cook and stir till heated through.

Serve over warm rice.
