-
1
1) Set up two large skillets on your stove.
-
2
One to medium heat, the other to medium high.
-
3
2) Preheat your oven to 425 F and grease a cookie sheet with oil, butter, spray, whatever you like to use.
-
4
3) Plop your bacon into the medium heat skillet and set up a paper towel lined plate beside it (or wherever you have counter room).
-
5
4) Set up a few tablespoons of olive oil in the medium-high skillet and let the chicken pieces join the fun.
-
6
5) Add some spices that you enjoy to the chicken.
-
7
I used onion powder, oregano, and a garlic-herb mixture.
-
8
Definitely over season these puppies (or chickens?)
-
9
since theyll be in the oven soon.
-
10
6) Check your bacon.
-
11
When its crispy enough to your liking, and closer to a crimson color rather than pink, flip em over.
-
12
7) Now spread some flour out onto an available surface and put some on your beautiful hands.
-
13
8) Separate the dough into two separate lumps and roll each out into an oval.
-
14
One for you, one for Mr. or Mrs. Lucky Receiver Of The Meal.
-
15
9) Stir around the chicken, and let it cook until you see absolutely no pink anywhere.
-
16
When they are the proper color, remove from heat and let cool.
-
17
(This should take around 15 minutes.
-
18
Definitely double-check a pieces inside if you arent sure, since no one likes raw poultry..or the hospital).
-
19
10) Pat dry your roasted red peppers.
-
20
Slice them very thin and place them in a large bowl.
-
21
11) Take your wonderful smelling bacon and place it on the paper towel-lined plate and let it cool.
-
22
Then crumble.
-
23
12) Now place the whole all star cast into your bowl with the red peppers: bacon, chicken, and of course, BBQ sauce.
-
24
Take a big bite and see if it needs more spices (most likely it doesnt, but you have to make time for bacon, right?)
-
25
13) Now spread some BBQ sauce onto each of your dough pieces.
-
26
Leave some space on the outside, we dont want oozers.
-
27
14) Now place a heaping spoonful of the filling onto half of your dough oval.
-
28
Fold over and seal with your fingers.
-
29
15) Repeat with the other dough oval.
-
30
16) Now, take a fork and press it along the edges of each calzone.
-
31
17) Spread some olive oil on top of each calzone with your fingers (or brush it if you have one of those..psh)
-
32
18) And finally, put these buddies into the oven on that baking sheet for 10 minutes.
-
33
Watch closely since all ovens are different and special.
-
34
19) I am aware you have leftover fillings.
-
35
This is because someone will probably demand you make this again tomorrow night.
-
36
20) Take out of the oven and let cool for a looong time because they will be hot.
-
37
Enjoy!
-
38
Now, if you are just that adventurous, you can make homemade ranch while the calzones are baking.
-
39
Take a ramekin and mix up two heaping tablespoons of sour cream, one of mayo, and one of plain yogurt.
-
40
Then add a couple shakes of onion powder, dill, and some salt and pepper.
