Barley and potato soup

   Fry the chopped onions and garlic until translucent.

   Add the bacon bits and cook through.

   Add the barley and water (about four cups)

   Once the barley is softened through add the chopped potatoes and salt and pepper to taste.

   Cook until everything is soft enough for your enjoyment.
