Beat together butter and sugar with a mixer until creamy, then add eggs one at a time. From this point on, just use a large spoon instead of a mixer. Stir in bananas, vanilla, and sour cream. Then stir in dry ingredients and walnuts.

Pour mixture into buttered loaf pan, put on a baking sheet on the middle rack for about an hour until you can put a knife in and it's clean when you take it out.
