   Preheat the oven to 220c/425f/Gas 7.

   1 Heat the extra virgin olive oil in a small ovenproof frying pan.

   Sear the tomatoes for a minute and season generously with sea salt and freshly grnd black pepper.

   2 Transfer to the oven and bake for 6-8 min till softened and piping warm.

   In the meantime, make the toast under the grill or possibly in a toaster.

   Serve the vine tomatoes and toast together on a plate for people to help themselves.
