   Put buttermilk in blender, add onion.

   In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients except the tomato juice or water.

   Add the tomato juice or water until it is thick enough to spoon.

   Drop spoon sized portion into 1 inch of preheated hot grease until golden brown, turning once.
