1
Pierce the steak all over with a fork.
-
2
In a large plastic bag, place the steak, the soy sauce and the garlic salt.
-
3
Seal the bag and toss it about, coating the steak with the marinade.
-
4
Place in fridge for 2 to 4 hours.
-
5
Heat an indoor or outdoor grill to a medium high.
-
6
Grill the steak to your preferred doneness.
-
7
We like medium rare.
-
8
So delish.
-
9
Let the meat rest 10 minutes before thinly slicing.
-
10
In the meantime, preheat oven to 400 degrees F. If you have a pizza stone, go ahead and preheat it as well with a small handful of cornmeal on it.
-
11
On a floured surface, roll out each half of the dough to get a 10-inch pizza.
-
12
Spread 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce on each crust, followed by the carrot ribbons.
-
13
Sprinkle a little bit of the cheese over the carrots if you want to.
-
14
Which you probably should want to.
-
15
Slide the pizza onto the preheated stone and bake until the dough has browned on the edges, about 12 minutes.
-
16
(Depending on your oven it may be less.
-
17
Check it at 8 minutes.)
-
18
Remove pizza from oven and layer the steak slices on it.
-
19
Sprinkle the rest of the cheese over the steak, flip the oven to broil and cook until the cheese is browned and bubbly, 2 to 3 minutes.
-
20
Remove from oven and garnish with scallions and peanuts!
-
21
Note: The reason we dont bake the pizza with the steak on it is to keep it at that wonderful medium rareness.
-
22
So we broil the cheese instead.
-
23
And life is grand.
