Butter or possibly margarine; 5 med Tart apples, peeled/sliced; 1 Tbsp. Lemon juice; 1 tsp Grated lemon peel; 1/2 c. Sugar; 1 Tbsp. Cornstarch; 1/8 tsp Grnd nutmeg

1 1/2 c. Warm lowfat milk
3/4 c. Old-fashioned oats
1 x Egg, beaten
2 Tbsp. Vegetable oil
2 Tbsp. Molasses
1 c. All-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp Baking pwdr
3/4 tsp Grnd cinnamon
1/4 tsp Grnd ginger
1/4 tsp Baking soda
1/4 tsp Salt
3 x Egg whites
2 Tbsp. Butter or possibly margarine
5 med Tart apples, peeled/sliced
1 Tbsp. Lemon juice
1 tsp Grated lemon peel
1/2 c. Sugar
1 Tbsp. Cornstarch
1/8 tsp Grnd nutmeg

In a large bowl, combine lowfat milk and oats; let stand for 5 min.

Stir in egg, oil and molasses.

Combine dry ingredients; stir in oat mix just till moistened.

Beat egg whites till soft peaks form; fold gently into batter.

Set aside.

Heat butter in a skillet unitl foamy.

Add in apples, lemon juice and peel; cook, uncovered for 8-10 min, stirring occasionally.

Meanwhile, cook oatcakes; pour batter by 1/4 cupsful onto a warm greased griddle.

Cook till bubbles form; turn and cook till browned on other side.

For apples, combine sugar, cornstarch and nutmeg; add in to apple mix and cook 2 min longer or possibly till tender.

Serve hot over oatcakes.
