Apple-Sausage Loaf

   Cook sweet potatoes in boiling water to cover 35 minutes or until tender. Drain; let cool to touch. Peel and cut into quarters. Set aside.

   Combine sausage, breadcrumbs, milk, applesauce, and 1/8 teaspoon salt in a large bowl. Shape meat mixture into a loaf; place in a lightly greased 13- x 9- x 2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350u00b0 for 1 hour. Add quartered sweet potatoes, and sprinkle with remaining salt. Bake an additional 20 minutes, basting potatoes frequently with pan drippings.

   Remove meat loaf and potatoes to a warm serving platter; discard pan drippings. Slice meat loaf. Serve with sweet potatoes,
