Sift dry ingredients and then cut Crisco into flour mixture. Beat 1 egg yolk

and put in measuring cup and fill with milk until cup is 2/3 full.

Add to flour mixture and divide into two parts. Roll out one part and put on cookie sheet or into jellyroll pan. Prepare fresh apples as you would for pie.

(Peel, cut into slices, add sugar, flour and cinnamon.)

Place apple filling in pan, enough to fill to the top, and dot with butter.

Roll out the other part of the dough and place over the top.

Beat 1 egg white and spread this over the top crust to give a nice shiny appearance.

Bake at 375 degrees for 50 minutes.

When warm, glaze with 1 cup of powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons water.
