Preheat oven to 375u00b0. Blend together in a saucepan, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Stir in water and cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil and has thickened slightly, (8 to 10 minutes). Stir in butter, vanilla and lemon juice. Set aside. Wash and peel tart apples; slice to make 4 cups. Arrange apple slices in a greased 9-inch square pan, which is at least 2 inches deep. Pour sauce over the apples. Prepare Sweet Drop Biscuit dough, (recipe in bread section.), and drop from a spoon over fruit mixture. Do not stir. Bake in a preheated 375u00b0 oven for 35 to 45 minutes. Serve warm, plain or with whipped cream or ice cream. This makes 6 servings.
