Apple Or Peach Strudel

   Into bottom of a buttered baking dish put a thick layer of apples or peaches.

   Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon mixed.

   Dot with lumps of butter.

   Sprinkle with nutmeg or cinnamon into a mixing bowl sift, 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 cup flour, 1/2 tsp salt.

   Into this sifted mixture, break 1 egg.

   Mix until crumble.

   Put over fruit.

   Bake in a moderate oven (350u00b0) till crust is brown.

   Serve with milk, whipped cream or ice cream.
