Anisette Cookies

   Beat eggs, shortening, and sugar.

   Alternately add the milk and anise extract and the flour and baking powder to the egg mixture.

   Divide the batter into 3 mounds on a cookie sheet.

   (or 4 mounds on 2 sheets to make smaller cookies).

   With floured hands shape each mound into an oval.

   Bake 12-15 minutes at 375 degrees.

   Once baked you can slice the cookies, return to the cookie sheet separating each cookie, and bake for another 7-10 minutes to crisp.
