Æblekage (Danish Apple And Cream Cheese Desserts)

   Peel the apples, remove the seeds, and cut them into large cubes.

   In a medium sauce pan, combine apples, 2 tablespoons of water, and cinnamon.

   Cover and cook over medium heat.

   Stir and sweeten with brown sugar to taste.

   Let cool.

   In a small bowl, crush amaretti to coarse crumbs.

   Set aside.

   With an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese until creamy, and add sugar to taste.

   To serve, divide cream cheese into 4 dessert glasses, then add apple sauce, and top with crushed cookies. Repeat 3 layers.
