3 eggs
3 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Combine raisins and water; cover and simmer 5 minutes.

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and reserved liquid. Add vanilla and beat well.
