Wacky Cake

   Sift dry ingredients into 9-inch square baking pan.

   Add vanilla, vinegar and shortening.

   Pour water over mixture and mix thoroughly to make sure all ingredients are moistened.

   A cup of chopped apples and 1/2 cup chopped nuts may be added.
