Toasted Tortilla Strips

   Preheat oven to 400u00b0. Cut tortillas into 1/4-inch strips. Toss strips onto an ungreased baking sheet, but do not spread into 1 layer.

   Toast strips at 400u00b0 on middle oven shelf 5 minutes. Toss well, return to oven, and toast about 5 minutes more until crisp and lightly browned. Cool before using.

   Note: If making ahead, store cooled strips in an airtight container.
