1 teaspoon soda
1/2 c. water
1 c. shortening or possibly 2 sticks butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. each coconut & nutmeats
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 c. flour
2 Large eggs, beaten
2 c. oatmeal

Cook raisins in water.
