The Ultimate Sugar Cookie

   Heat oven to 350u00b0.

   Bake 5 to 9 minutes.

   Combine sugar and Crisco in large bowl.

   Beat at medium speed with electric mixer until well blended.

   Add eggs, syrup and vanilla.

   Beat well. Combine 3 cups flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

   Add gradually to creamed mixture at low speed.

   Mix until well blended. Spread 1 tablespoon flour on sheet of wax paper.

   Place 1/4 of dough on floured paper.

    Flatten dough slightly; turn over and roll to 1/4-inch thickness.

    Cut out with floured cutters.

    Transfer to ungreased baking sheets, 2 inches apart.
