Ingredients: 1/4 cup ketchup; 1/4 cup apple juice; 1 1/2 tbsp tomato puree; 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce; 1 tbsp dark soy sauce; 2 tsp black treacle or molasses; 1 tsp hot mustard; 1 tbsp smoked paprika; 1 tsp brown sugar; 1 tsp garlic powder; 1 tsp cayenne pepper; 1/2 tsp ground black pepper; 1 pinch red pepper flakes; 2 tbsp bourbon (Jim Beam Devil's Cut)

Servings: persons

1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup apple juice
1 1/2 tbsp tomato puree
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
2 tsp black treacle or molasses
1 tsp hot mustard
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 pinch red pepper flakes
2 tbsp bourbon (Jim Beam Devil's Cut)

Mix all the ingredients except for the bourbon.

Bring to the boil then simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes on the hob, or microwave on full power for 1 1/2 minutes

Remove from the heat and stir in the bourbon

Allow to cool so that all the flavours merge into the sauce.

Stir well

Keep in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Use as a marinade or a table sauce on your favourite BBQ meats
