Combine the flour and salt and mix together.

With a pastry cutter or two forks , cut in shortening until it looks like crumbs.

Add the quarter cup of water and stir in.

Stir until dough forms, may need the extra water here.

With your hands knead dough just until smooth, just a few kneads will do this.

Form a rectangle shape and divide into 24 equal pieces.

About the size of a ping pong ball.

Heat oven to 400F.

Press each piece of dough into a muffin tin, pushing 3/4 of the way up.

Press evenly and tightly in muffin cups.

With a fork, prick bottom and sides of dough.

Bake 10-12 minutes letting them get a light golden brown.

These shells are made to hold already prepared fillings and can just be heated in.

Quick shrimp recipe to use with tart shells..........Take 48 large, fresh shrimp, shelled and deviened.

Saute shrimp in 2 tablespoons olive oil and 8 cloves of minced garlic.

Cook until shrimp turn pink.

Stir in 4 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese and 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley.

Season with salt and pepper and add 2 shrimp each to cooked tart shells.
