1/3 c. buttermilk

4 1/2 c. flour

1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream shortening and sugar.

Add egg, syrup, buttermilk and vanilla.
