3 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon sugar
1 ¼ teaspoons salt
⅛ teaspoon pepper
¾ cup water
¾ cup cream, light
cooked egg noodles (optional)

Sautee chopped onions in 2 tablespoons butter in a heavy skillet until preferred softness is reached.

Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, whisk egg.

Add bread crumbs and milk.

Whisk together and let stand for 10 minutes.

Add remaining meatball ingredients and mix well.

Form into balls about 3/4 inch in diameter.

In same skillet, melt an additional 2 tablespoons butter.

Brown meatballs on all sides.

Remove meatballs from skillet and place in a casserole dish.

Over medium heat, add the rest of the dry ingredients to the butter and drippings in the skillet, stirring well.

Slowly add the water and cream, stirring constantly.

Cook until thickened.

Pour gravy over meatballs in casserole.

Keep warm in a slow oven until ready to serve.
