Sugared Walnuts

   Use 2-quart saucepan.

   Combine sugar, salt, cinnamon, orange rind and milk; cook to soft ball stage, 230u00b0, stirring frequently. Remove from heat; add vanilla and walnuts and stir until grainy. Turn out at once onto a buttered cookie sheet.

   Separate nuts while still warm.

   Store in jars.
