Preheat oven to 350u00b0. Cut banana into 1/4-inch thick slices. In a bowl, whisk together half and half, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cut a slit into bread slices horizontally, almost in half, leaving one edge intact. Stuff each bread slice with 4 to 6 banana slices (don't overstuff). In a baking dish, arrange bread slices in one layer and pour half and half mixture over them. Soak slices, turning them over once or twice to allow bread to absorb all liquid, about 15 minutes. In a 12-inch nonstick skillet, melt butter over low heat. Cook bread until golden, about 5 minutes on each side. Dust each bread slice with confectioners sugar and serve warm with maple syrup.
