Place potatoes in the pot and put water over them. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer. Boil until softened. You will be able to stick a fork in them and not be able to pick them up. Once they are soft take them out of the water and allow them to cool.

While you are waiting for the potatoes to boil put the egg in the mixer and beat just a bit. Then add the half and half, maple syrup, vanilla and salt. Mix lightly.

Then put the flour and brown sugar in the food processor. Pulse to mix. Then cut the butter into cubes and put into the processor. Mix until crumbly. Chop the pecans and stir in.

Once potatoes are cool place in egg mixture and mix well. Then pour into the greased baking dish.
