1
I used Australian thinly sliced beef offcuts.
-
2
I got 400 g for 480 yen.
-
3
You can use this cheap beef to make a delicious steak.
-
4
Take one slice of the beef and roll it up.
-
5
Take another slice and roll it around the previously rolled slice.
-
6
I think you can roll about 180-200 g with 1 slice of bacon.
-
7
Turn it on it's side and it should look like this.
-
8
Season it with lots of salt and pepper.
-
9
Wrap the bacon around it and tie it together with a string.
-
10
I got the string from the 100 yen shop.
-
11
Don't tie it too loose, but don't tie it too tight.
-
12
It should look like this if you look at it from the side.
-
13
I love bacon so I used 2 slices.
-
14
Heat the beef fat in a frying pan.
-
15
Tornado steak is quite thick and surprisingly doesn't cook easily, so pan-fry it on medium heat.
-
16
Fry the first side for 3 minutes!
-
17
After 3 minutes, flip it over.
-
18
Doesn't it look yummy?
-
19
Cover with a lid.
-
20
After 3 minutes, flip it over....
-
21
and cover with a lid.
-
22
Then repeat just once more.
-
23
I cooked the bacon too!
-
24
After you flipped it over the last time, pour in the wine.
-
25
Cover with the lid.
-
26
Let it steam for 3 minutes.
-
27
The steak should be flipped for a total of 3 times and the total cooking time should be 12 minutes!
-
28
After 3 minutes, the liquid should have evaporated.
-
29
This will give you a medium-rare steak!
-
30
Poke through the center with a toothpick and if it is warm to the touch, then it's done!
-
31
I today I garnished it with lemon.
-
32
It will look like this when you slice it.
-
33
Since I only cooked it for 10 minutes, it's a bit more rare than usual.
