   Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

   Mix butter, sugar, egg yolks and vanilla thoroughly.

   Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting.

   Work in the flour.

   Using 1/4 of the dough at a time, force dough through cookie press onto ungreased baking sheet in desired shapes.

   Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until set but not brown. Cookies may be decorated with colored sugar or cherries before baking.
