1 c. dark brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. water
4 c. toasted bread cubes
1/2 c. raisins
1 c. peeled and thinly sliced tart apples
1/4 c. melted oleo
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese (optional)
1 qt. nonfat frozen vanilla yogurt

In small pan bring sugar and water to boil until thick (about 5 minutes).

Set aside.

In 8-inch square pan, layer half the bread cubes, syrup, raisins and apples.

Repeat layering.

Pour on the oleo, set aside.

In medium bowl combine eggs, milk and seasonings.

Bake 35 to 40 minutes.

Sprinkle cheese on during last 5 minutes.
