Sour Cream Apple Squares

   Preheat oven to 350u00b0.

   Combine flour, sugar and oleo.

   Stir in nuts.

   Mix until crumbly.

   Press 2 3/4 cups of this crumbly mixture into ungreased 13 x 9-inch pan.

   To remaining mixture, add cinnamon, soda, salt, sour cream, vanilla and egg.

   Blend well. Stir in apples; spoon evenly over base.

   Bake 25 to 35 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.

   Cut into squares.

    Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
