Chop the chocolate if using a bar. Set aside. Add milk, sugar and cocoa powder to a medium size pot, and whisk over medium heat until the cocoa powder is well incorporated. Continue stirring over heat until the milk is warm, then add the chopped chocolate. Stir until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth. Stir in a dash of salt.

Carefully pour into cups. Top with whipped cream and serve! I've found it easiest to pour into a small pitcher or large glass measuring cup with a spout and then into glasses.
