For the cupcakes:
-
2
1. Preheat the oven to 350u00b0F. Line two 12 cup muffin tins with paper liners.
-
3
2. In a large bowl mix cake mix, eggs, water and oil together.
-
4
3. Divide mix into prepared muffin tins.
-
5
4. Place two frozen Snickers bars into the center of each cupcake.
-
6
5. Bake for 20-22 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Try not to insert the toothpick into the Snickers bar or you won't get a true read.
-
7
6. Remove the pans from the oven and allow cupcakes to cool completely.
-
8
For the icing:
-
9
1. In a medium sized bowl cream together butter and cream cheese.
-
10
2. Slowly add powdered sugar, mixing as you go.
-
11
3. Add caramel and vanilla and mix until combined.
-
12
4. Add milk until you reach the right consistency for piping or spreading.
-
13
5. Taste. If you would like a more intense caramel flavoring add more.
-
14
6. Pipe or spread frosting onto the top of the cooled cupcakes.
-
15
7. Enjoy! These may be garnished with more Snickers and caramel.

A couple of notes:
-
17
- I added two Snickers because the first time I made these with one,
-
18
I did not get a strong Snickers flavor. I wanted the flavor to be very prominent so I added another.
-
19
- Also we in our house do not like an overly sweet frosting so I added the cream cheese. This can be omitted if desired. If so just increase your butter and powdered sugar as desired.
