mince onion and bell pepper in food processor

brown ground beef and season with salt, pepper, & garlic powder.

add onion and bell pepper.

you can put a dash of red pepper flakes for a Lil kick.

when ground beef is done, drain grease.... don't rinse.

if not using packaged rice you can fix rice yourself by using 1 cup rice and 2 cups water or broth.

I use my rice cooker while browning the ground beef.

* I have added 2 cups of rice cooked in the rice cooker.

if you do this drain hamburger and rinse slightly.

add directly to ground beef and mix well.

IF USING PACKAGED RICE.... add a pkg of yellow rice and following the instructions on pkg.

use beef broth and don't add butter or margerine because of the oil left on the meat.

put a lid and let simmer.

if it looks dry add more broth.

if using cooked rice mix rice in well and let heat through.

it is done when rice is tender... when tasting decide if you need more salt, pepper, or garlic powder.

* my Hubby likes a can of diced tomatoes add to it but it is not really dirty rice.

if you taste and feel it is to tart from tomato add 1 tsp of white sugar.
