Cook rice according to package directions 2.

Mash beans in a large bowl with a fork until thick and pasty; set aside.

Place the bell pepper, onion, mushrooms, and garlic in the bowl of a food processor, and chop finely.

Stir the bell pepper mixture into the mashed beans.

Place the cooked brown rice and cheese into the food processor, and process until combined.

Stir the mixture into the beans.

Whisk together the eggs, chili powder, cumin, garlic salt, and hot sauce.

Stir the egg mixture into the bean mixture.

Stir in the bread crumbs, adding additional bread crumbs as needed until the mixture is sticky and holds together.

Divide into individual patties; I use a 1/4 cup measuring cup to make equal sized patties and get anywhere between 15 to 20 patties.

Simply wrap individually in plastic wrap, and they will last practically forever in the freezer!)

When ready to prepare them: Heat a little olive oil in a pan over medium heat and cook for 5-7 minutes per side.
