Savory Irish Soda Bread

   Preheat oven to 415u00b0F. Lightly grease a baking sheet and dust with flour.

   Sift flours, baking soda and salt into a large bowl. Mix in butter until crumbly. Make a well at center and pour in buttermilk. Bring mixture together to form a soft ball, then turn dough on to floured surface and knead for 5 mins or until smooth.

   Using floured hands, shape dough into 6 loaves, about 3x4 inches each. Place on prepared baking sheet. Score top of each loaf with a knife and sprinkle with chili (if using) and salt flakes.

   Bake for 10 mins. Reduce oven temperature to 375u00b0F. Bake for 10 mins more or until bread sounds hollow when tapped. Serve warm with tomato chutney and cheese.
