   Place 6 slices of buttered bread in greased dish.

   Place 1/2 of cheese and meat over bread.

   Add 6 more slices of bread, then rest of cheese and meat.

   Beat eggs; add milk, onion and seasonings.

   Pour over layered bread and meat.

   Place in refrigerator overnight.
