2 lb. round steak (3/4-inch thick)
2 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. oil
1 tsp. beef bouillon
1 1/2 c. hot water
2 Tbsp. margarine
3/4 c. uncooked rice
1/2 c. carrots
1/2 c. celery
1/2 c. chopped green onions
1/2 tsp. thyme leaves
flour for gravy

Cut steak into 6 serving pieces.

Combine flour, salt and pepper.

Dredge meat.

Pound into both sides.

Brown meat in the oil in large frying pan.

Dissolve instant beef bouillon in hot water.

Pour over meat.

Cook slowly for 1 1/2 hours.

Melt butter in large pan.

Add rice, carrots, celery, green onions and thyme leaves.

Remove 1/2 cup liquid from meat, adding enough water to make 1 1/2 cups.
